My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Kirsten Holmberg, uses a curious story of the relationship between a seagull and the bird’s healer to show how God can bond and provide in wondrous ways. … The ODB author wrote: For twelve years, Chirpy, a seagull, has made daily visits to a man who’d helped him heal from a broken leg. John wooed Chirpy to himself with dog biscuits and was then able to nurse him back to health. Though Chirpy only resides in Instow Beach in Devon, England, between September and March, he and John Sumner find each other easily—Chirpy flies straight to him when he arrives at the beach each day, though he doesn’t approach any other human. It’s an uncommon relationship, to be sure. [See photo]

And then the ODB author goes on to show a biblical story in reverse [see photo and highlight passage] where God brought food to Elijah during a drought and famine by ravens carrying food to the Prophet. And all of this, including the truth of the Scriptures above, is to show us, as God’s children, that He will always be our “Jehovah Jireh,” The Provider of all our needs according to His riches in glory.

The challenge is, … do we believe it?
