Oct 14, 2020 … Teamwork Together

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 288

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from the group Casting Crowns singing … If We Are the Body … powerfully leading of how we, as Christ’s Body, must come TOGETHER to work in unity for His purposes.

Working TOGETHER as the Body of Christ ...

==============

Highlight Passage: Colossians 3:15 [ESV] ...

15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

  We are called TOGETHER, as the Body of Christ, to find our peace by working TOGETHER.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Colossians 3:5-16 [ESV] ... USE THIS LINK …

… Paul exhorts fellow Christians to set aside individual preferences and desires and work for the good of God’s kingdom, ... TOGETHER … as the Body of Christ.

=============

Reference Passage: …  Proverbs 27:17 [ESV] …

   17 Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

… Solomon exhorts fellow believers to work TOGETHER with others

Reference Passage: … Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …

… God, thru Solomon, teaches us that going it alone - as a “Lone Ranger” believer - will never be as effective as working TOGETHER as believers.

Reference Passage: …  1Corinthians 12:20-25 [ESV] …  USE THIS LINK …

… God created His Church to work TOGETHER as ONE BODY to accomplish His kingdom purposes.

Reference Passage: … Philippians 2:3-5 [ESV] … 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, …

… The Apostle Paul shows us, as Christians, to look beyond ourselves to work TOGETHER to help meet the needs of others, … just as Christ humbled Himself to serve others.

My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Xochitl Dixon, AT THIS LINK uses a story about her husband, who could’ve avoided an injury in a team sport if his fellow teammates had worked more closely TOGETHER to warn him of the danger which caused the injury.

And if you’ve read thru my journal entry above, you can’t help but note the one word which repeats itself thru my descriptions of the Scriptures copied above. … Yeah, … ”TOGETHER”, right?

God is putting together His “Body,” … the Church … to be a united TEAM, working TOGETHER to accomplish His purposes on earth. And as His own word, our game-plan as the Body of Christ (i.e., the Bible) admonishes, thru Solomon and Paul above, … clearly exhorts us to avoid being “Lone Ranger” Christians; … calling us out - TOGETHER - as His Body … to carry out his Great Commission (hopefully you know this one - but if not, go on your own to Matt. 28:19-20).

How about it, fellow Christian TEAMMATE? What can we do today - TOGETHER - to do what Casting Crowns sings about in the linked song?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for calling me to be on Your team to work TOGETHER with my fellow Christian teammates for Your glory.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me to reach out today, as Your team, working TOGETHER, for Your purposes and Your glory. … Amen
