Luke relates the story of how Paul and Silas, having been beaten and imprisoned in a jail, sang praises to their (our) God.

Reference Passage: … Ephesians 5:18b-19 [ESV] …

… Paul again encouraging fellow Christians to sing, even God’s word, in praise to God with thankful hearts.

My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Adam Holz, AT THIS LINK relates a story of how the author’s young daughter often was heard, even very early in the morning, singing joyful and thankful praises to God, … the author admiring, if not her voice, her heart of worship and joy in singing praises to God.

And God’s word [see Scriptures above] is repetitive and replete with exhortations to join with fellow believers and sing our praises to our God, … Who is certainly worthy of praise, isn’t He? We remember the story (see Acts 16) of Paul and Silas singing praises to God from jail, even after having been beaten and shackled in prison.

Perhaps, if you’ve come here in the past, to read my journaling after my prayers and meditation from Our Daily Bread, … I always find and link any reader to a song which expresses my heart/mind about the subject matter of that morning’s devotional entry. Today it was Michael W Smith, leading in worship and praising God with his song, ”Forever God is Faithful”.

Now, we may not be great vocalists or song writers like Michael W; but, we certainly can do all we can to let songs of praise open our minds and hearts to worship our Lord with more fervent praise and thanksgiving. That is my prayer for us today; and I’d invite you to come back tomorrow where there will be another song to sing our praises as we get closer to our God thru His word.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for songs of praise, like the one linked above, which lift our hearts in joy and thankfulness to praise You, King Jesus; … because You are so worthy of our praise.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me to sing along with Michael W Smith, … just like Paul and Silas did in that jail, … because our God is worthy to be praised … no matter what may be our circumstances. … Amen
