June 10, 2020 … Sharing THE Answer

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 162

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Jeremy Camp singing … The Answer … poignantly singing of how we Christians are called to she “The Answer” to the questions of the world, which is the Good News of Jesus.

=============
Highlight Verse[s]: 1Peter 3:15 [NLT] ... 15 Instead, [as Christians] you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.  … We are called to witness our faith to others; … DO WE?
==============
Highlight Passage [context]: 1Peter 5:13-18 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… God, thru Peter, exhorts His family to be ready to witness their faith to others.
=============

Reference Passage : … Isaiah 55:11 [NLT] ... 11  It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
… When we share God’s truth from HIs word with others, it will ALWAYS be fruitful for His purposes.

Reference Passage : … Mark 16:15 [NLT] ... 15 And then He told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. ... "
… Jesus returning to the 11 Disciples after the resurrection, charges them (and us) to go into all the world and share Him with those who need the Good News [which is everyone].

Reference Passage : … Acts 1:8 [NLT] ... 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
… Jesus before ascending back into Heaven, commissions all true disciples to be His witnesses.

Reference Passage : … Romans 10:15 [NLT] ... 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
… God, thru Paul, blesses and encourages those who feel called to witness in Christ’s name and for the glory of His Gospel.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Tim Gustafson, tells of a coworker who was questioned on the job about his faith; and he was able to give an answer to the questions. … The ODB author wrote: Most of Mike’s co-workers knew little about Christianity, nor did they seem to care. But they knew he cared. One day near the Easter season, someone casually mentioned that they’d heard Easter had something to do with Passover and wondered what the connection was. “Hey, Mike!” he said. “You know about this God stuff. What’s Passover?”
So Mike explained how God brought the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. He told them about the ten plagues, including the death of the firstborn in every household. He explained how the death angel “passed over” the houses whose doorframes were covered by the blood of a sacrificed lamb. Then he shared how Jesus was later crucified at the Passover season as the once-and-for-all sacrificial Lamb. Suddenly Mike realized, ...  Hey, I’m witnessing!

Today, who knows, … but someone may challenge or question our faith [see photo]. And as we read in the Scriptures above, we are called to give an answer as witnesses for Christ. The question from today’s ODB entry and God’s word is … WILL WE?!! … And, are we ready to do what Jeremy Camp sings about in the linked song … to share THE ANSWER with the world; … and that answer, of course, is the Good News about King Jesus.

I pray today that all reading here are ready and will do just that.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for giving me Your gospel answer to share with others.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me, … to share the Good News of our Lord and Savior with others today. Amen
