June 20, 2020 … Walking By Faith

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 172

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Jeremy Camp singing … Walk By Faith … powerfully singing of how we as Christians need to walk by faith and not by sight.

Yes, ... even when we can't see Him ...

=============
Highlight Verse[s]: Isaiah 8:17 [NLT] ... 17  I will wait for the Lord, Who has turned away from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my hope in Him.
… There are times when God seems to have turned away; but we must trust that He’s always there for the faithful who’re willing to wait on Him.

Highlight Passage [context]: Isaiah 8:16-18 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… Isaiah, in his faith in God, shows that he and God’s people must often wait on God, trusting in His presence and power in times of trial.

Reference Passage : … Proverbs 3:5-6 [NLT] ... 5  Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6  Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
… Yes, even when we walk in times when it’s hard, if not impossible, to see where God is leading us.
Reference Passage : … Romans 8:28 [NLT] ... 28 And we KNOW that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.
… If we’re really Christians, … even when we’re blind-sided by life, it’s for our good and for His purposes.

Reference Passage : … 1Corinthians 10:13 [NLT] ... 13 The temptations [also translated “test, trial, trouble, or tribulation”] in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.
… Our God is always there when we’re tempted to let fear shackle our walk with the Lord.

Reference Passage : … 2Corinthians 5:6-10 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Faith is trusting God even when we can’t see or sense His presence.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Leslie Koh, writes of a husband who had to walk by faith… and not by sight … as his wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. … The ODB author wrote: Lela was dying of cancer, and her husband, Timothy, couldn’t understand why a loving God would let his wife suffer. She had served Him faithfully as a Bible teacher and mentor to many.
“Why did You let this happen?” he cried. Yet Timothy continued to be faithful in his walk with God. “So why do you still believe in God?” I asked him frankly. “What keeps you from turning away from Him?” …
“Because of what has happened before,” Timothy replied. While he couldn’t “see” God now, he recalled the times when God had helped and protected him.

I would expect that many, if not all, of my readers have had times when God seemed to have disappeared; … when our trust in God was being tested by circumstances like those in the ODB entry today. And that’s when FEAR is so very real and our FAITH has to help us get thru those dark moments [see photo]. But for the faithful, like the husband in the ODB story, we KNOW … that we know that we know … that God is ALWAYS there for us, … even when it’s hard to believe in God’s promises, … as with the Scriptures above.

But as with the authors of these promises from God’s truth, we must walk by faith when we can’t walk by sight. And I pray that for all here with me today.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for giving me the faith to know that you’re there, … walking with me today, … even tho I can’t see where You’re leading me.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me, … to walk thru the darkness, maybe today, trusting that God will see us thru. Amen
