Reference Passage: … 2Corinthians 12:9-10 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …
…Paul remembered Jesus’ promise to him (and us) that He, King Jesus, would give us His strength when we were feeling too weak to deal with life’s challenges.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Patricia Rayon AT THIS LINK … on this Martin Luther King Day, reminds her readers that Dr. King gave his greatest victory speech the night before he was assassinated. Dr. King always knew his life was in danger; but he found his peace in following the call of His Lord; … and so should we!
Jesus promised His disciples the night before He went to the cross that they, following Him, would face many storms in life (see John 16:33); but He also promised us, as disciples, that He would provide us with His strength to withstand the storms of life (see 2Cor 12:9-10), just as Isaiah had prophesied 700+ years before Christ came to earth as our Messiah (see Isaiah 43:2 above).
So, as we traverse these pandemic and disruptive storms we’re going thru now, I pray we all follow God’s charge, thru Isaiah, in Isaiah 26:3 and keep our eyes focused on our Lord, as Ray Bolz sings in the linked song, … with our anchor of faith affixed strongly in the Rock of all ages, our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for being my Rock in these storms that we weather now in life.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to set our anchor of faith solidly in You, Lord, as our Rock of Ages. … Amen
