January 24, 2022 … In the Potter’s Hands …

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 24

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...    Please take the time to take in a song and lyrics from the group Hillsong singing … The Potter’s Hands … poignantly singing of how our God reshapes those willing into the images of our Savior.

Highlight Passage: …  Jeremiah 18:5-6 [NLT] …

Then the Lord gave me this message: “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand..

… Peter shows that our surrender in faith to God’s amazing grace results in our salvation.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Jeremiah 18:1-6 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… God, thru Jeremiah, shows God’s people that they are clay in the hands of a redeeming and reshaping Potter.

Reference Passage</u>: … Isaiah 64:8 [NLT] …

And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, and you are the potter.  We all are formed by your hand.

… Paul teaches fellow Christians that God showed His amazing love and grace by dying for sinners on the cross.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Romans 9:20-21 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… Paul uses the analogy of God as the Potter and we as His children being the clay; and He remakes us into the image of His Son.

Reference Passage: … 2Corinthians 4:7 [NLT] …

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

… Even as broken pieces of pottery, we can shine God’s light thru our good works in His Name and for His glory.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Katara Patton, AT THIS LINK  tells of how a shop owner, trying to keep shoppers from breaking delicate pottery in his Miami shop, posted a sign which has now been copied and posted in many similar shops, saying, …  ”You break it; … you buy it!”

And this catchy sign reminded the ODB author of a word picture used by God, thru His Prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah (see OT Scriptures above) as well as the Apostles Paul in the NT (see Rom 9 and 2Cor 4 above), showing that God is like a heavenly Potter, reshaping His clay (that’s us!) into the magnificent image of His Son, or Lord and Savior, King Jesus.  And I pray today that all reading here, including yours truly, are submitting to the Hands of our Lord as He reshapes and remakes us into His own image.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for reshaping me, as Your clay, into Your image.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to submit ourselves to Your reshaping hands, Lord.   … Amen
