… Jesus teaches the truth about Him being the bread of life, a truth many of His followers could not grasp, not seeing Him as the promised Messiah.

… King David sings of God’s faithful finding satisfaction ONLY in the fear of the Lord.

Reference Passage: … Matthew 4:3-4 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK

… Jesus dispels Satan, who was tempting The Lord to turn stones into bread … by quoting truth from Deuteronomy 8 that man does not live by bread alone but by every word which comes from God.

Reference Passage: … John 11:25 [NLT] …

25 Jesus told her (Martha after Lazarus had died), “I am the resurrection and the life.  Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. …”

… Jesus shows Martha, whose brother, Lazarus, had died, showing her (and us) that those who believe in and live for the Lord would be raised to live again after dying. And He was about to show Martha and Mary and many others that He had the power over death and life.

Reference Passage: … Romans 12:2 [NLT] …

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

… Paul helps fellow Christians see the truth that disciples of Christ must avoid seeking the ways the world would lead us to be “satisfied,” but rather to seek after God’s will and His ways as the only real way to be satisfied.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Marvin Williams … AT THIS LINK  writes about how the snack food industry in America has invested millions and hired “crave consultants” to determine how to exploit the food cravings of potential consumers.

But neurological research has shown that consuming foods, drugs, or anything which provides pleasure to the senses will produce neuro-chemicals in our brains which bond us consumers to that external pleasure producing experience.  That’s why mankind becomes so easily addicted to things like digital screens or pornography.

And Satan even tried to use that reality when trying to tempt a hungry and tired Jesus in the wilderness (see Matt. 4 or Luke 4).  But Jesus showed the Devil that “man does not live by bread alone” (from God’s word in Deuteronomy); … but that we will only be satisfied by consuming Him, our Lord, as the “Bread of Life”.  So, today’s ODB entry points real Christians to the truth that Jesus is our “Bread of Life,” and only HE can satisfy our souls.

And I’m praying that all reading here take in the truth from the linked song and the Scriptures above and then, move forward, … taking in as much as we cam from God’s satisfying truth, that we consume from God’s word everyday, to help us to overcome the cravings of this world.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me Your truth, Lord, as my “bread of life” to satisfy my soul.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to take in Your “bread of lie” and Your “living waters” from Your word every day to give us real and lasting satisfaction.          Amen
