My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Amy Boucher Pye … AT THIS LINK … Tells of a General serving Queen Victoria, who, when he was home from the Queen’s service in China, would give 90% of his income to help the poor and needy that he would see around him in London.
The story illustrates the truth of the Scriptures above; … that God commands His people to give generously and sacrificially and anonymously whenever we can see photo to serve the needs of the poor. Because, as the group sings in the linked song, we need to see that our generosity is simple a refection of God’s giving to us. And personally, … I’m convicted to be willing to do more, knowing that I will never be able to outlive our God.
How about it, dear one; … could we do more today to honor our God with our giving?
