My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Elisa Morgan … AT THIS LINK … tells of a tree nursery owner who decided that the best way to sell his peach tree plants was to exhibit the sweet fruit that would be produced by the tree plants; and so, in displaying the trees, he had sweet peaches for the customers to sample (see photo).
And for us, as disciples of Christ, to “sell” the world on the fruitfulness of the Gospel is to display the sweet hanging fruit of the Holy Spirit, which is listed by Paul in the highlight passage. Others will best see this sweet fruit of the Holy Spirit if we, who’ve received and partake of God’s vine (see John 15:4-8) and exhibit His fruitfulness.
So, that’s my prayer for all of us today, that we go forth in our fruitfulness to let others sample the sweet and mature fruit of the Spirit in us. Will you join me to be fruit salesmen (and women) today?
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for help Your fruit mature in me so others may sample its sweetness today.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to go out and let others sample the sweetness of Your fruit, Lord, as I live for You today. Amen
