My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Patricia Raybon, AT THIS LINK  tells of joining an online teleconference; … and, as others joined the conference, she felt very alone; … that is, until she noted her Pastor and a longtime church friend joined the conference.  Being TOGETHER with like-minded and trusted friends always makes us feel encouraged and lifted up in the midst of unfamiliar circumstances, doesn’t it?

And then the ODB author used the story of Elijah (see highlight passage), when God showed the Prophet that the Lord was always there with Elijah in the midst of his escape from the evil forces in the wilderness.  And it was like that for Joshua too, wasn’t it, … just after Moses died and Joshua was charged to take God’s people into the Promised Land.  Then God promised Joshua (see Joshua 1:9) to be with Him and His people EVERYWHERE they went.

And that’s what Jesus promises us, doesn’t He?  (See Matthew scriptures above)  The question is do we believe Him!!   And then, … do we live with the strength of trust in our Lord, (see Prov 3:5-6) Who is ALWAYS there to give us His strength when we feel lost or afraid.  I’m praying that is what we all feel today in these COVID times of despair.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for lifting me up out of my own personal funk today with Your eternal promises.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to trust in Your promises, Lord, as we move forward today … to follow You in these scary times in our world.   … Amen
