Highlight Passage: … Hebrews 4:12  [ESV] …

12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires

… God’s word has the power to transform those who read and believe it.

Highlight Passage (Context): …  Hebrews 4:11-13 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

Reference Passage: …  Psalm 119:105 [ESV] …

105  Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light of my path.

Kind David sings of the power of God’s word to lead us in life.

Reference Passage: …  Isaiah 55:10-11 [ESV] …  USE THIS LINK ...

… God, thru Isaiah, declares the power of God’s word to transform mankind for God’s purposes.

Reference Passage: …  John 17:17 [ESV] …

10 Make them holy by your truth; teach them Your word, which is truth.

… Jesus prayed that God’s word would transform His faithful believers with the power of God’s holiness.

Reference Passage: …  1Thessalonians 2:13 [ESV] …

13 Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received His message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

… Paul shows fellow believers (and us) that God’s word, when shared with others, has the power of God’s truth to transform lives.

Reference Passage: …  2Timothy 3:16-17 [ESV] …

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work..

… Paul shares Timothy (and us) the power of God’s word to give believers God’s power to carry out His good works.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Mike Wittmer … AT THIS LINK tells the story of a young comedian, who had turned away from any faith in Christ, who was given a New Testament by a stranger and challenged to read Christ’s Sermon on the Mount; and in reading God’s word was transformed to faith in Christ.

And I so identify with that story, having been transformed myself from an angry atheist to faith in Christ by being led to read one scripture verse under intense personal circumstances.  I know the truth of the linked song and the Scriptures above, where God uses His word like a surgeon uses a scalpel to remove a cancer from our bodies.  As Paul wrote to Timothy in 2Tim 3:16-17, God’s word infuses any who read and believe His truth with God’s power.

Oh how I pray that all reading with me are experiencing the power of God’s truth to change our lives and give us the Lord’s light to follow in life (see Ps 119:105).

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me Your word to light my path today …. and tomorrow.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to infuse our lives, Lord, with Your power thru Your word.     .… Amen
