Highlight Verse[s]: Romans 8:27 [NLT] ...  27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
… I know that God’s Spirit intercedes for me today.

Highlight Passage [context]: Romans 8:26-34 [NLT] ... USE THIS LINK ...
… God, thru Paul, assures us that our Lord sit on His throne and prays, thru the Spirit, for all who have needs in accord with God’s will.

Reference Passage : … John 17:9-11 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… Jesus prays in the Garden of Gethsemane for all Christians after He ascends to Heaven.

Reference Passage : … Hebrews 7:24-25 [NLT] … 24 But because Jesus lives forever, His priesthood lasts forever. 25 Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
… God assures Christians of our prayer Advocate - King Jesus - Who intercedes for us Christians on His eternal throne in Heaven.

Reference Passage : … 1John 2:1 [NLT] … 1 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.
… God’s amazing promise of Jesus’ advocacy and intercession on behalf of Christians before our Abba Father.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Jennifer Benson Schuldt, uses a personal story about interceding in prayer for a waiter to illustrate how God intervenes for each of us as our Spirit advocate. … The ODB author wrote: Late one Saturday afternoon, my family and I stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. As the waiter set crispy fries and thick burgers on our table, [see photo] my husband glanced up and asked his name. Then he said, “We pray as a family before we eat. Is there something we can pray for you today?” Allen, whose name we now knew, looked at us with a mixture of surprise and anxiety. A short silence followed before he told us that he was sleeping on his friend’s couch each night, his car had just quit working, and he was broke.
As my husband quietly asked God to provide for Allen and show him His love, I thought about how our go-between prayer was similar to what happens when the Holy Spirit takes up our cause and connects us with God. In our moments of greatest need—when we realize we’re no match to handle life on our own, when we don’t know what to say to God, “The Spirit intercedes for God’s people” (Romans 8:27). What the Spirit says is a mystery, but we’re assured that it always fits with God’s will for our lives.

So, … what do we, as God’s children, need from God’s intervention today? And whatever we can imagine our need, which is consistent with God’s will for us, we can know that Jesus, Himself, just as He did for us in the Garden of Gethsemane (see John 17:9-11) now sits on His throne in Heaven and intervenes for us thru His Spirit (see Scriptures above).

And today’s ODB illustration, as well as the linked song by Ricky Skaggs, cries out for us to be intervening in prayer for others today just as God’s Spirit does for us. So, whom can we pray for today that we know God’s Spirit is likely praying for as well in Heaven?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for praying for me today.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here are will join me to intercede in prayer for others today whom we feel that God will be praying for as well in Heaven. Amen
