Well Rooted - Withstanding the Winds of Time

=============
Highlight Verse[s]: Ephesians 4:14 [NLT] ... 14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.
… When we’re well grounded in Christ, we will not be tossed to-and-fro with the winds of false teaching and the ways of the world.
==============
Highlight Passage [context]: Ephesians 4:11-24 [NLT] ... USE THIS LINK ...
… God, thru Paul, teaching of how we must put on the new, Spirit-led, for the Body of Christ to withstand the winds of the world.

Reference Passage : … Psalm 1:1-3 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… Even in the OT the psalmist sang of the faithful being well rooted, like a tree planted and fed by the waters of truth from God’s word.

Reference Passage : … Ephesians 2:6-10 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… God has imparted His grace in His body so that we can show Him off to the world.

Reference Passage : … Ephesians 3:17-20 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… Paul wanted his fellow Christians to know the well-rooted strength we have the Body’s well rooted relationship with Christ, which is stronger than we can ever imagine.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Monica LaRose, uses the word picture of our faith being well rooted in Christ to withstand the winds and storms of this world. … The ODB author wrote: As I shared with my counselor my roller-coaster of emotions after a stress-filled week, she listened thoughtfully. Then she invited me to look out the window at the trees, lush with autumnal oranges and golds, the branches swaying in the wind. [see photo]
Pointing out that the trunks weren’t moving at all in the wind, my counselor explained, “We’re a bit like that. When life is blowing at us from every direction, of course our emotions will go up and down and all around. But sometimes we live as if we only have branches. Our goal is to help you find your own trunk. That way, even when life is pulling from all sides, you won’t be living in your branches. You’ll still be secure and stable.”

And then the ODB author shows [in Paul’s letter to Ephesus] how much the Apostle desired that his fellow Christians see that they could avoid the winds of untruth and the storms the world if they (we) would be well grounded in God’s truth [i.e., God’s word]. It was like King David wrote in Psalm 1:1-3, singing about the faithful who walked in righteousness, … those who were well-rooted in God’s truth, like a tree planted and fed by God’s eternal river.

And that’s the assurance that the group, Third Day, sings about in the linked song, … the strength we have when we have a deep and abiding relationship with the Lord, which is rooted and well grounded in His word. Because, those who do will have more strength than we can ever imagine (see Eph. 3:17-20). That is my prayer for me and all reading here.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for grounding me in Your truth every day when I’m refreshed by the waters of truth from Your word.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here are are well rooted in God’s word and feed on the fresh waters of His truth every day. Amen
