Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 73
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Gordon Mote singing … Mercy Walked In … poignantly singing of how we as Christ’s disciples are guilty of the injustice of our sin nature; but that’s when the mercy and grace of Jesus stepped in to offer us His justice and salvation.

Highlight Passage: … Micah 6:8 [NLT] …
8 No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: … to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
… Thru Micah, God reminds His people what justice really looks like.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Jeremiah 22:3 [NLT] …
3 This is what the Lord says: Be fair-minded and just. Do what is right! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Quit your evil deeds! Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans, and widows. Stop murdering the innocent!
… God, thru Jeremiah, declares clearly how we, His children, must treat others justly.
Highlight Passage [Context]: … Matthew 7 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …
… Jesus teaches, in His sermon on the mount, about what the Prophets had brought to God’s people, to live with God-honoring justice; … especially note Verse 12 - the “Golden Rule”
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Mart DeHaan, … AT THIS LINK … shows that the attempt of Caesar Augustus, the first emperor of Rome, to bring justice to Rome failed miserably; but during his reign as “king of the known world,” ruling by an iron fist of his justice, came the true “King of kings,” … the One and Only Lord of justice, giving mankind the mercy and grace to produce true justice in and for the world.
And recognizing all that God taught His beloved Israel about living justly (see the prophesies of Micah and Isaiah and Jeremiah above); and then the teaching of Jesus to His followers in His Sermon on the mount, … we learn that man’s social justice (see photo) will never work. No, only when we’re willing to live under the justice of Jesus’ mercy and grace will we experience true Godly justice.
And that’s what I pray all reading here will pursue in our lives … the grace-filled justice which comes from Jesus’s mercy. Please take in the linked song today and realize that we’re all guilty of capital punishment before God’s throne; and His justice is perfect. But that’s when His mercy and grace enters our courtroom and offers Jesus’ mercy and grace to save us from our sin-wrought death penalty.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me Your mercy and allowing me to be saved by Your Son’s grace.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to live to proclaim Your justice, Lord, for others in our lives. Amen
