My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread< author, Amy Boucher Pie … AT THIS LINK … tells of an elderly widow in the Chech Republic, who called her home an “Embassy of the Kingdom of Heaven,” saying, “My home is an extension of Christ’s kingdom,” which is a perfect example of what Jesus Christ and other Bible authors taught (see Scriptures above) about humble service in living like Jesus … as a humble servant to others rather than living to cater to the rich and powerful as the religious leaders did in Christ’s time on earth.
And so, my fellow Christians, do you, as do I, feel the probing word of God, maybe in the song by Tim McGraw, calling on us to humble ourselves and to serve God’s kingdom, living like Jesus did in the service of others? And I don’t know about you, dear friend, but I’m more than a little convicted to be lifted up by our Lord, by serving others more today …. and then in the tomorrows of my life.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … showing us all, as You did by washing the feet of Your disciples in the upper room, to humble ourselves and to humble ourselves as You lead us to opportunities to serve Your kingdom by serving others.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to seize the opportunities You give us, Lord, to serve others in Your kingdom, .. today and tomorrow. Amen
