Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 198

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Lydia Walker singing …  Have Decided To Follow Jesus poignantly singing the old hymn of commitment of disciples of Christ to follow Jesus’ will and His ways … no matter what … NO TURNING BACK!

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Deuteronomy 2:7 [NLT] …

For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.”’

God, thru Moses, shows His wandering people that following His ways, God had provided them with all their needs.

===============

Reference Passage: …  Psalm 119:36 [NLT] …

… God, thru Solomon, shows that trusting God will lead us along His path in life

Reference Passage: …  Jeremiah 29:11 [NLT] …

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

… God, thru Jeremiah, to God’s people, promises hope in  their future if they follow His ways.

Reference Passage: …  John 14:6 [NLT] …

Jesus told him [Thomas and His disciples], “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

… Jesus shows His disciples that following Him was the only way to heaven.

Reference Passage: …  Philippians 4:19 [NLT] …

19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

… God, thru Paul to fellow Christians, promises that He will meet ALL the needs of those who follow Him.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Kenneth Peterson … AT THIS LINK  shows how traveling across the USA, from Arizona to Pennsylvania, one could travel thru some unlikely places such as Uncertain, TX or Dismal, TN, or Panic, PA.   However, …  it’s not likely we’d follow that route because the GPS would likely take one a different, more direct, route.

However, in following God’s will and His way n life, we often are called to take routes that we would likely not desire to take.  But, … deciding to follow the way God is calling us to go (see photo) is really the only route follow, isn’t it?  God showed His Old Testament followers, that He would show them the way and provide for all who would follow Him (see OT verses above).  And Jesus, Himself, spoke to His disciples (and us) saying that following Him was really the only way to go in life (see John 14:6).

So, the only real question God asks us from what God is leading me to write today is … ARE WE FOLLOWING GOD”S WAY …  today and then again tomorrow?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for showing me the way to go in life by following Your word..

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to use Your GPS - Your Word, Lord - to follow You all the way to glory.   … Amen
