July 21, 2022 … El Roi - God sees! …

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 202

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Nicole C Mullen singing a song written by her and Kathie Lee Gifford … The God Who Sees poignantly singing  of three biblical mothers who came to know their all-knowing and all-seeing God, El-roi, … Who watched over them ALWAYS; and these mothers who came to see that their God sees and cares for all.

==============

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Genesis 16:13 [NLT] …

13 Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the Lord, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.”

Hagar learned to know and trust her God as “El-roy,” (<b><i>“God Who Sees”</b></i> in Hebrew).

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Genesis 16:7-16 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …

… Hagar felt mistreated by Sarai and ran away from her keeper. But God sent His Angel to show her that He, The Lord, El Rog not only saw her troubled spirit but would always be there to  give her a son and a future, cared for by God.                                                                                         ===============

Reference Passage: …  1Samuel 16:7 [NLT] …

But the Lord said to Samuel,… The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

… God, in seeking to anoint a new King to replace Saul, shows the Prophet, Samuel, that God see men differently that other men, … He sees into the heart rather than to outward appearance or by tradition.

Reference Passage: …  Proverbs 3:5-6 [NLT] …

<i>  Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  6 Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.  </i>

… God, thru Solomon, shows that we must trust and follow God to know the way that we should go in life …  ALWAYS !!

Reference Passage: …  Proverbs 15:3 [NLT] …

The LORD is watching EVERYWHERE, keeping His eye on both the evil and the good.

… God, also thru Solomon, shows that He, God, sees all, … everywhere and always.

Reference Passage: …  Romans 8:38-39 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Paul teaches fellow Christians (and us now) that NOTHING can separate us from our God who loves all who love and obey Him.

Reference Passage: … 1Peter 2:9 [NLT] …

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

Peter shows oppressed fellow Christians what we have been chosen to know our Lord and to share His goodness and Gospel glory with others.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Karen Huang … AT THIS LINK  relates a story about a young mother of two kids who had been abandoned by her husband and who was confronting all the challenges of life as a single mother in a tough world, but who came to realize and share, …  “It’s difficult, … but I know God sees me and my family. He gives me the strength to work two jobs, provides for our needs, and lets my kids experience His guidance each day.”

Now, isn’t that the kind of faith and trust in God that all of us who declare Jesus to be our Lord desire to capture?   Certainly it is !! … And if you can - and will - take in the lovely linked song and have mediated on the Scriptures above, I hope you realize that any of us who seek to know our God deeply, as I do daily by coming here to see more or my God thru His word, can - and will - come to realize that we seek after a God who sees all in our hearts and love us to give us His grace to deal with the challenges of this life.

And if you come along with me here daily, as I use Our Daily Bread as my vehicle to get to know my all-knowing and all-seeing God, we can see and follow Him TOGETHER thru His word.  Prayerfully, … I’ll be here tomorrow; … but I know that our God will be here, to see us all and desiring that we get to know Him more intimately.   Come along with me!

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for seeing all we are, and especially as we get to know You more today.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  as we get to know You, Lord, as our all-seeing and all-caring God.   … Amen
