My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, James Banks … AT THIS LINK  tells of how craftsmen who repaired grandfather clocks would often leave “witness marks” in the clock as they repaired them so that craftsmen coming after them would find it easier to repair the clock.

It’s somewhat like we were trained as Boy Scouts, walking on a trek thru a densely wooded area, to leave our own “witness marks,” (see photo) in the event that others may need to come behind us in an emergency rescue should we get lost or in danger.  And the Scriptures above show us that Jesus wants us to follow His way in life; and He has sent His Spirit to lead us (see John 14:26; and as Paul showed fellow Christians in 1Cor. 11:1 that fellow Christians could confidently follow God’s way to lead others by leaving our own “witness marks” on our way following the Lord in life.

My fellow disciple of Christ, that’s what we need to be doing for fellow Christians, isn’t it?  God has given us His “witness marks” by giving us His word to avoid the path of sin in our lives (see Ps 119:9-11).  And our Lord has promised a way of Hope if we follow His will and His ways (see Jeremiah 29:11).   The question is … “Are we willing to follow God’s ways and to lead others along His path in life?”

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for marking my way to go in life with Your word.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to do all we can to follow Your clear path for our lives thru Your word and by calling us to lead others to follow You.      Amen
