April 11, 2022 … Be Prepared!

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 101

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Nancy Helgesen singing  Are You Ready For His Coming … poignantly singing of how we, who know and worship King Jesus, must be prepared and ready for The Bridegroom, our Lord, coming for His Bride, the Church.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, James Banks … AT THIS LINK  tells of rescuers finding the pocket watch of a professor, Elisha Mitchell, who had fallen to his death trying to prove that the Appalachian mountain, which now bears his name, was the tallest mountain each of the Mississippi river, … the watch showing the exact time of Mitchell’s death (see photo).

The point of this ODB entry, supported by the Scriptures above, is that those of us who believe in and follow Christ as our Lord and Messiah, are admonished - NO, … really commanded[!] - to ALWAYS be prepared for our Lord’s promised return.  And having been an Eagle Scout, I recall the old motto of the Boy Scouts, which exhorts Scouts to ”Be Prepared !!”

And taking up that charge, I hope all born-again believers reading with me here, have taken in the linked song and meditated on God’s call, thru His word above, for vigilance and are prepared and ready for our Lord’s return.  But, … if we’re not ready, … perhaps we should be preparing ourselves; because King Jesus could return today!

My THANKFULNESS ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for Your promised return.  I’m ready!

My Prayer Today< Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to ready ourselves for Your return, Lord, … maybe even today!!       Amen
