Sept 14, 2020 … Looking Forward

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020- Day 258

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Ryan Stevenson singing … No Matter What … poignantly singing of how true Christians can look forward to the wonder and newness ahead in Heaven.

Grieving ... but looking ahead to glory ...

==============

Highlight Passage:  Revelation 21: 4 …  [ESV] ...

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

    The glory we Christians can always look forward to in God’s New Jerusalem.

=============

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Revelation 21:1-5 [ESV] ... USE THIS LINK …

  To what can Christians look forward, … pictured by God thru John.

=============

Reference Passage: …  John 12:26 [ESV] …

26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

  Jesus’ promise of glory for anyone who surrenders to His Lordship.

Reference Passage: … John 14:1-3 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK

… God’s promise, thru Jesus, to His Disciples (and all Christians) of a home in Glory.

Reference Passage: … Romans 8:38-39 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK

… God’s promise, thru Paul, that NOTHING, not even death, can separate Christians from His love.

Reference Passage: … James 1:12 [ESV] …

12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

  God, thru James, charges believers to remain steadfast in God’s promise of glory ahead.

Reference Passage: … 1Peter 1:13 [ESV] …

13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

  God, thru Peter, trying to help us look ahead and set our minds on the glory beyond the trials of this life.

My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Bill Crowder, AT THIS LINK - - writes of the reality that death lies ahead for us all, and, as in the photo, we might be grieving a loved one in the future. But, … we who are in Christ can KNOW and CELEBRATE what lies ahead for any who have surrendered and follow Christ as our Lord/Savior.

And I pray that any reading with me here can hold on to God’s promises from His words of truth above; and from what Ryan Stevenson sings in the linked song, … especially in times of trial like these. Yes, “No Matter What” we face in this life for us Christians, what lies ahead is what God gave us to look forward to thru John in the Revelation (see Rev. 21:1-5) linked above.

And personally, those promises trump any trials we’re facing now; … yes, even death; because as God promises, thru Paul (see Romans 8:38-39), NOTHING, not even death can separate me from my God’s love and grace.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for what You have waiting for me in Glory.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me today, to praise God that He is waiting for us with a home in glory. HALLELUJAH!! … Amen
