My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Monica La Rose, AT THIS LINK … shows that Frederick Buechner in his memoirs, entitled Telling Secrets, writes that there was a “law” in his family which drove family members to keep quite about any negative feelings, … making them a slave to fear and the silence demanded by the family “law.”
But as the Apostles Paul and Peter - as well as Jesus - taught [see Scriptures above] the opposite is true about the family of God. They show any born-again believer in Christ that, as the linked song also proclaims, we, who have a surrendered relationship with King Jesus, have been set free from the Law and can now live a life with no condemnation (see Romans 8:1-2), … set free from our captivity to sin and to live, in that freedom from sin, seeking to honor God with our lives.
I pray that is our pursuit today.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me the freedom to honor Your grace with my freely-given surrender today.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to surrender and live for You in the freedom You have given us with Your blood. … Amen
