My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Amy Boucher Pie AT THIS LINK  relates a personal story of her husband reminding her, when she taught or spoke in public, to keep her hands behind her back (see photo) to present more of a humble posture to those in her audience.

Taking a posture of humble servanthood is hard for us humans, is it?  Our nature would have us pridefully want to step out in front and take control, … wouldn’t it?  But as we read in the scriptures above, and take in the linked song, Jesus even described Himself, as the Son of God, to be humble and gentle of heart (see Matt 11:29 and John 5:18).

And so, if we are real disciples of Christ, then we would desire to be like our Lord, …right?!  Therefore,…  let’s be like the ODB author and take on a “hands behind our back” posture as we try to be like Jesus in interacting with others today.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for showing me Your humble attitude to be my model in serving others today.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to be more like You, Lord, and humble ourselves in serving others today.     … Amen
