My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Jennifer Benson Schuldt, … AT THIS LINK … tells of a young boy who dreamt of climbing a Swiss mountain. The boy prepared long and hard to climb to the summit (see photo); but on the way, one of his climbing party became ill and the boy chose to stay behind and help the fellow climber, showing the kind of love which made the boy a success in God’s eyes, … even though he didn’t have success as the world might see it.
God’s idea of success is often looked on as failure in the world’s eyes, isn’t it? As we take in the linked song and the truth from God’s word above, I pray that we all see that God showed us what real-deal, … GODLY, … success is all about; and that is when we’re willing to sacrifice our selves - with God-like love - to help others. And that, of course, was modeled - perfectly - by Christ as He sacrificed Himself for us on the cross.
And so, I’m praying today that we all look for ways to be successful in God’s eyes by looking for ways to serve and love others as Christ has shown His love for us.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for showing me Your love so that I can share it with someone else today.
