Jan 11, 2021 … Looking Up for God’s Grace

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 11

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir singing … My Help …  poignantly singing from Psalm 121 of how we must look up to receive God’s enabling/empowering grace to handle the circumstances of life.

Look up to see Pikes Peak basking in God's sun ...

My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

We must always look up to receive our help from the God of the Universe.

Paul remembers - as should we - Jesus’ promise that His grace is ALWAYS sufficient to give us the strength we need when we’re feeling down or weak.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Glenn Packiam, AT THIS LINK  tells of LOOKING UP to see Pikes Peak, near where he lived, when a fog had lifted and he could see the majestic mountain clearly (see photo), giving him feeling of strength.

And yet, here we are on earth with so much conflict and division swirling around us out from 2020, … even in Christ’s church!  … So, being Christ’s disciples, how are we to deal with all these feelings of weakness and the division and conflict we see in the world?

Well, … looking up to see the majesty of Pikes Peak reminded the ODB author of how God’s people used to ascend to Jerusalem three times a year, singing songs like Psalm 121, … sung for us so powerfully in the linked song by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, … a song which reminded God’s people to ALWAYS look up to their dependence and relationship with God for His help when they were feeling weak or needy.

And Psalm 121 and the other Scriptures above are those which remind me to look to receive the empowering grace, promised by our Lord, when I’m down or needing God’s strength to cover my weakness.  And I pray that all reading with me here can do just that as we move into 2021, needing God’s strength as we feel so challenged from the viral times of 2020.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for giving us Your strength when we’re feeling weak.

My Prayer Today:<Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me, to look up to receive God’s enabling grace as we move into the new year.  … Amen
