Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Steve Green singing … People Need the Lord …  poignantly singing of how we will encounter many - even today - who need the Lord.

Mary Magdalene encounters Jesus at His tomb ...

==============

Highlight Passage:   Matthew 19:21-22 [ESV] ...

So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

The two Marys, at the charge of an angel, left the empty tomb, encountering Jesus there, to joyfully tell Jesus’ disciples that He was risen from the dead.

… The two Marys at Jesus’ tomb were charged by an Angel to go and tell His disciples that He was risen …

Reference Passage: … Matthew 28:19-20  [ESV] ...

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus charges His disciples to become witnesses to His risen victory when He left them to go to heaven.  And that is our charge now.

Reference Passage: …Acts 1:8 [ESV] ...

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Reference Passage: … Romans 10:13-14 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK ...

Paul exhorts disciples of Christ to share Him with others so that they might repent and be saved.

Reference Passage: … 2Timothy 3:14-15 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK ...

Knowing Christ as we do as His disciples, we, … as Paul charged Timothy, … are to GO and SHARE Christ with others who don’t know Him.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Kirsten Holmberg AT THIS LINK  tells about Pheidippides who in 490BC ran from Marathon to Athens to announce the Greek victory over the Persians in war, … that run to share the good news of victory became the origin of the modern marathon which we see run as the final event in every Olympics.

Then the ODB author shares about the joy of victory which the two Mary’s; who encountered an Angel and Jesus at the Lord’s tomb [see photo], … who then excitedly and joyfully ran to share the “good news” with the 11 remaining Disciples.  Can we imagine how motivated the two Marys would have been to run to share that good news?

Now, God’s word - and the charge of no less that Jesus Himself to any/all of His disciples (see Matt. 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8), was - and is - to go and share the good news of the saving Gospel of Christ with the world.  And that was the Apostle Paul’s life and mission

(see Rom. 10:13-14 and 2Tim. 3:14-15).  But, the challenge from today’s ODB entry is simple and clear. … ARE WE TAKING UP THAT COMMISSION from Jesus and doing what the two Mary’s did … and that is going joyfully to share the good news of Jesus with others?   That is my prayer for all of us today.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for challenging us to go and to be witnesses of Your good news.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me, … to do all we can TO GO and share the Gospel today - and tomorrow.      … Amen
