Jan 3, 2021… Slow Down and Wait !

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 3

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from the The Gettys singing … I Will Wait For You …  poignantly singing from Psalm 130 of the plea of God’s people, waiting for the covenant love and grace of their (our) God.

Highlight Passage:   John 22:21 [ESV] ...

Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

Martha didn’t understand Jesus’ timing and His purposes in coming to them after Lazarus had died and was buried.

Reference Passage: … Proverbs 3:5-6 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …

We must trust God - and HIS timing - and not try to impose our own personal desires on our Lord.

Reference Passage: … Proverbs 16:9  [ESV] …

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. <

We may try to control our ways; but God is always in control of our steps.

Reference Passage: … Ecclesiastes 3:1  [ESV] …

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: …

God’s timing is ALWAY perfect for all of life …

Reference Passage: … Lamentations 3:25-26 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …

God, thru Jeremiah, shows that waiting on God’s will and His way is always the best life strategy.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Adam R Holz, AT THIS LINK writes of walking by a highway of speeding cars (see photo) and realizing that he was all too often speeding thru life and not waiting on and trusting God for His will and His timing in life.

And reading the ODB entry today and meditating on the song and the scriptures above convicted me that I need to take an inventory of my commitments and habits into 2021, … and like Martha came to realize (from the highlight passage) that Jesus’ agenda and His timing are ALWAYS the best pursuits for all of us who claim to be His disciples.

What about you, … fellow Christian?  Perhaps we all can - and should - commit to wait on the Lord more in this new year, trusting in His timing and seeking HIS will and HIS way more in 2021.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for calling us to be more diligent in following Your way this year.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me, to wait on God and follow His way more diligently in this new year.   … Amen
