Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 226
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Lauren Daigle, singing … I Will Trust In You … Poignantly singing of how we Christians need to trust in our God even when we don’t understand the trials we’re going through.

Highlight Passage: Job 2:10 [NLT] …
10 But Job replied [to his wife’s curses], “You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?” So in all this, Job said nothing wrong. </i>
… Covered in boils from Satan’s infliction, Job holds onto his trust in his God.

… God, thru James, promises those who endure testing or trials for Christ’s sake will be rewarded in heaven.
Reference Passage: … 1Peter 5:10 [NLT] …
10 In his kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation.
… James, writing to persecuted Christians, also passes along God’s promise to restore those who endure tribulation for Christ’s sake.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Arthur Jackson, AT THIS LINK … tells of a young new Christian who didn’t understand, after he had just given his heart over to Christ, that he would have to endure troubles that derailed his dream of being a professional attitude.
And haven’t we all, at some time in our lives, encountered a test, a trial, or some trouble where we just couldn’t understanding all the “WHY ME” questions. Of course we have! And that was certainly what Job faced [see highlight passage] when God allowed Satan to bring down debilitating sores to this upright man. And in the attached photo we see Job’s wife telling her husband to just curse God and die. But Job chooses to hold onto his faith … NO MATTER WHAT!!
And that’s what God, thru His word above, and many Authors, including Jesus Himself, expects of His disciples. So, are any of you, as am I, going thru some trial which has you feeling like, “WHY ME, LORD!” But you also feel, down deep in your heart, the Lord also saying, maybe thru the Scriptures above and my journal entry today, “Hold on, I’ve got this covered!” … Because He does; and if we do hold on to Him and His promises, … there will be rewards in Heaven.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for exhorting me, thru Your word and Your promises, to hold on as I go thru this pain today.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to hold on to Your promise, Lord … and to give us Your strength in our trials. … Amen
