August 29, 2021 … Gospel Power …

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 241

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Ryan Stevenson singing  The Gospel … powerfully singing of the power of “The Gospel” to save.

Highlight Passage:  Romans 1:15-16 [NLT] …

15 So I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News. 16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

Paul proclaims the truth of the saving power of the Gospel for any/all who believe on the Name of Christ as Lord.

Highlight Passage [Context]: …  Romans 1:1-7. 14-17 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… Paul declares His calling and commitment to share the Kingdom gospel of salvation thru Christ’s name and His finished redeeming work on the cross.

==============

Reference Passage: … 1Corinthians 1:18 [NLT] …

18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

… Paul declares the power of the Gospel to be foolish to those who reject Christ.

Reference Passage: … 1Corinthians 2:3-4 [NLT] …

I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.

… Paul shows that it was not his preaching which saved people but in the power of God’s Spirit Who saves those who believe on Christ as Lord.

Reference Passage: … Philippians 2:9-11 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK  ...

… Paul declares strongly to fellow Christians that God the Father has elevated the Name of His Son to be “LORD” and all who believe on that Name as Lord will be saved.

Reference Passage: … 1Thessalonians 1:5a [NLT] …

For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. …

… Paul shows the power of the “good news,” which comes thru the power of God’s Spirit to save those who believe in Christ as Lord.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Mart DeHaan, AT THIS LINK  … writes of the “gospel” in Rome in Christ’s day … of the power of Augustus as Rome's “son of god,” to rule over the Roman Empire with the power of life/death, bringing so-called “peace” for all under Caesar’s reign.

But the Apostle Paul, having been saved by the power of the true Gospel and the love and grace of Jesus Christ, brought a new and true message of salvation to all who heard and believed Paul’s preaching  (see Pauline Scriptures above)… that any/all who believed in the Name of Christ and His finished work on the cross would be saved.

I pray that all reading here believe Paul’s proclamations [above] of the saving Grace of Jesus Christ and the power of His redeeming work on the cross as we declare Him to be our LORD, and sharing His Gospel power to save with others.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for the truth and the power of Your Gospel to save me.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to share our testimony of the saving power of the Gospel with others.   … Amen
