Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 216
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Matt Redmon singing … You Never Let Go … Poignantly singing of our Lord never lets go of us in our times of trials.
==============
Highlight Passage : Isaiah 49:15 [NIV] …
15 Yet Jerusalem says, “The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.” 15 “Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!
… God’s word challenges us, as followers of Christ to have confidence and endurance in walking the walk of faith, … unburdened by the weight of sin because of Jesus taking that burden for us.

Highlight Passage [Context] : … Isaiah 49:14-18 [NIV] … USE THIS LINK …
… God, thru Isaiah promises His people that in all their trials, HE, their Lord would never leave them or forsake them [nor us now!].
==============
Reference Passage: … Numbers 23:19 [NLT] …
19 God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?
… If God promises His chosen ones (that’s us too!!) never to forget or forsake us, unlike mankind, He will do what He says. … ALWAYS!!!
Reference Passage: … Deuteronomy 31:6 [NLT] …
<i> 6 So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
… God, thru Moses promises Joshua and His chosen people that He would never forget them or forsake them as they enter the promised land.
Reference Passage: … Matthew 28:20b [NLT] …
20b …. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
… Jesus, about to ascend into heaven, promises any/all born-again believers to be with us - with His Spirit, … ALWAYS!!
Reference Passage: …Hebrews 13:5-6 [NLT] …
5 Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” 6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
… The Author of Hebrews, quoting from Deut 31:6,8 (vs 5) and Ps 118:6 (vs 6) with God’s promise NEVER to forsake His chosen ones (and that includes us!).
Reference Passage: … 1Peter 5:7 [NLT] …
7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.
…Peter helps believers KNOW - beyond doubt - that they (we) can take all our cares to a God who ALWAYS cares for us.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Arthur Jackson, AT THIS LINK … relates how he has a high functioning autistic nephew who has the ability to remember any relational date and occurrence in which he was involved, never forgetting any detail of the event.
And the ODB author was using this human story to illustrate the truth that our God has promised never to forget us and above this never to forsake us, … no matter what we go thru! And we know from the truth of Num 23:19 that God, as opposed to mankind, CAN NEVER and WILL NEVER forsake any promise that He makes to us (i.e., thru His word).
Therefore, take in the linked song and meditate on the Scriptures above, and realize that no matter what we’re going thru now, or will go thru in the future, that our caring God will be with us just as Jesus promised to His Disciples when He returned to heaven after His ministry on earth (see Matt 28:20b).
Right now, I’ve been dealing with a lot of severe/chronic physical pain; and today’s ODB entry was well timed, for example from (1Peter 5:7) that I can cast all my worries and concerns on my God because HE will ALWAYS care for me. Perhaps you need to take your worries to God and find His peace (on your own seek out Phil 4:6-7).
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for being with me thru the trials and pain I’m dealing with now.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to take our trials and issues to You, Lord, knowing that You will never forget us or forsake us. … Amen
