Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 215
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Kim Walker singing … Walk With Me … Poignantly singing of our desire as Christians to have Jesus walk with us down the roads and thru trials of life.
==============
Highlight Passage: Hebrews 12:1 [NIV] …
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
… God’s word challenges us, as followers of Christ to have confidence and endurance in walking the walk of faith, … unburdened by the weight of sin because of Jesus taking that burden for us.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Hebrews 12:1-3 [NIV] … USE THIS LINK …
… God, thru the Author of Hebrews, exhorts Christians to run the race of life as if we’re running with Jesus.

Reference Passage: … Psalm 23 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …
… King David knew that His God was leading him and walking with him … even through the valley of the shadow of death.
Reference Passage: … Matthew 11:28-30 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …
… Jesus invites all true followers to yoke ourselves to Him in our walk of faith, knowing that He has the strength to carry us when we’re weak or weary.
Reference Passage: … Luke 9:23 [NLT] …
23 Then He said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.
… Jesus charges any/all who follow Him to give up our own way and to follow His way.
Reference Passage: … John 1:12 [NLT] …
6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him.
… The Apostle shows the faithful how faith in Christ as Lord makes us children of God.
Reference Passage: … 1John 2:5-6 [NLT] …
5 But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we know we are living in Him. 6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
… We show our true discipleship, walking the way He walks.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Karen Pimpo, AT THIS LINK … shows how, to walk a rigorous trail like the three weeks it takes to walk the John Muir Trail in California, a hiker just can’t “go it on his/her own” and take on that rigorous trail. No, … one must be well conditioned and be prepared with just the right equipment and supplies; … and then to follow the well documented maps of the trail.
And that is a good life picture of what it takes to walk-the-walk of faith, following Jesus and the roadmap of His word thru life. I think we’d all agree that the trail of life is a rough road [to say the least!]; and we do much better on that trail to follow Jesus just as He commands in Luke 9:23; … and to rigorously and obediently yoke ourselves to our Lord, … following Him as closely as possible all the way to glory.
That’s my prayer for all of us on this trail of life we’re walking today and tomorrow, … that is, if we make it tomorrow following our Lord and His roadmap as I am here today by seeking God’s way in life thru the bible.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for being with me all the way on Your path to glory, Lord.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to stay yoked to Jesus as we follow Him all the way home. … Amen
