June 10, 2022 … God’s Way FIRST

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 161

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   … Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Lauren Daigle singing … First … powerfully singing of how we, in Christ, must do all we can to know Him and put His priorities FIRST in our lives.

==============

Highlight Passage [Context]: …  Ecclesiastes 3:11 [NLT] …

11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

… God has planted all we need in our hearts to seek after Him and live for His glory.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …

… God, thru Solomon, teaches that in our lives there is a time for all of the things that God has given us to live for Him and for eternity.                                                                                           ===============

Reference Passage: …  Psalm 90:12 [NLT] …

12 Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

… Moses prays for God to show him (and us) wisdom to make Godly choices in the short life He gives us.

Reference Passage: … Proverbs 3:5-6 [NLT] …

5  Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

… God, thru Solomon, teaches that God will give us the way to go in life if we’re willing to trust Him.

Reference Passage: … Matthew 6:33 [NLT] …

33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

… Jesus shows His followers (and us) that when we seek His priorities first, He will provide our needs.

Reference Passage: … Ephesians 6:15-17 [NLT] …

15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

… Paul exhorts other fellow Christians to be careful to seek out God’s priorities when making decisions about how we live in the life we’re given.               .

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Poh Cindy Hess Kasper … AT THIS LINK …  relates to a friend how difficult it had been to set aside time in his busy life to finish the massive novel, War and Peace, and was told by her friend,  “When I retired from teaching, I got it as a gift from a friend who told me, ‘Now you’ll finally have time to read it.’ ”

Priorities!! … It can be difficult in our short lives to know what to prioritize, can’t it?  But if you’ve taken in the linked song today and the Scriptures above, God’s word shows us that God has given us a heart to seek and find His way in life (see highlight passage).  And Jesus and the Apostle Paul (see Matt 6:33 and Eph 5:15-17) have charged us Christians to do our utmost to seek out and follow the Lord in living our lives and making Godly priority choices.

And I’m praying today that I, and my readers here with me, that, as Moses sang (see Psalm 90:12 to trust our Lord (see Prov 3:5-6)  that He will help us make wise and Godly choices in life in order to follow Him.  How about it, dear one, let’s all do our best to follow Jesus today!!

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … as I wrote yesterday, for showing me, and ALL Your disciples, the way to go by following Your word.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to lead us in following Your way today, Lord.  … Amen
