My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Poh Bill Crowder  AT THIS LINK   tells of John Wesley dispelling an angry mob who were protesting the preaching of his brother, Charles, in 1742.  It is written that John was able to quiet a potential riot with his gentle, Christlike, demeanor.

And the ODB entry, and even more the Scriptures above, from the Apostle Paul, … and Jesus Himself, … calling on all Christians to take on an attitude of humility and gentleness in dealing with others.  And Solomon also wrote wisely (in Proverbs 15:1) that a gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words will inflame others in the public arena.

So, how many of us have a tendency to let our selfish and angry desires speak for us rather than letting God’s spirit guide us with Christlike gentleness as we interact with others?  Personally, I’m going to try my best to be more like Jesus today as I’m called to share with others.   How about you?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, …for showing us how to share ideas with others.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to seek to interact with others as You did, Lord, with humility and gentleness.    Amen
