Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 170

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK  …  take the time to take in song and lyrics from the group Avalon singing … No Orphans of God … poignantly singing of how our hope as Christians always provides us with a Father when we’re feeling alone or broken.  . .

Reference Passage: …  Psalm 103:13 [NLT] …

13 The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him.

… Again David declares in song that our Lord treats ALL of His children like a good Father.

Reference Passage  Matthew 23:9 [NLT] …

And don’t address anyone here on earth as ‘Father,’ for only God in heaven is your Father.

… Jesus teaches His followers that God is our eternal Father.

Reference Passage: …  John 10:28-30 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… Jesus teaches that He and the Heavenly Father are one and that all the Father brings to Him, He will never let go of them.

Reference Passage: …  1John 3:1 [NLT] …

See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him.

… God, thru John, teaches that our Lord is our eternal and heavenly Father and we are His children.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Winn Collier … AT THIS LINK  tells a true story about Guy Bryant, a welfare worker in New York City, who recognized the need for so many young fatherless boys to have a father figure.  So, over the years, he became the foster “dad” for many of these young boys (see photo), leading them to live productive lives.

And Guy Bryant’s commitment to become a “father” to the fatherless illustrates what the group Avalon sings in linked song, … that there are no orphans for those who have become part of the family of God.  Our Heavenly Father is an eternally loving and heavenly capable Father to any who, thru their (our) faith, become His born-again children.

And oh how I pray that any reading with me here know our Heavenly Father as our “Abba”… that is, … our “Daddy” God,…  Who will always be there for those of us who love and follow our Lord to our eternal home in heaven to be with our Abba Father forever.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for being my Heavenly Father.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to rest in the confidence that You, Lord, are our Heavenly Father, Who has given us Your Son, King Jesus, to watch over us forever. … Amen
