My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Patricia Rayon … AT THIS LINK uses a story of a lilac bush being cut down mistakenly by a yard worker and the owner patiently waiting for three years (see photo), with no blooms, until the bush finally bloomed out beautifully.

And so it is with our lives, quite often.  We go thru periods of time, often lengthily, where we have to humbly and patiently wait for our Lord to work.  We read of such faithfulness in the Old Testament (see Scriptures above), where God called on His faithful remnant of followers to trust and follow Him obediently, … rewarding those who wait on Him

Today’s ODB entry cited Caleb, waiting 40 years to enter the promised land, …Rebekah, waiting decades to have a child, … and Simeon waiting obediently to see the baby Jesus, his Messiah.  And I’m sure there are some, maybe many reading here, who’re going thru a time of challenge, maybe even despair, where our faith is being challenged.  But God’s promise to His faithful in the Old Testament holds true for any of us who are waiting on God to be there for us today.

Yes, our patience may be thin, but join me to wait on God thru today … and tomorrow … and as long as it takes; … because our God is faithful; and He knows what we need; and He’ll be there for us in His good timing [go to  Romans 8:28 on your own].

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for being there for me even when I can’t feel Your presence.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to wait on You, Lord, even when we don’t understand Your absence. … Amen
