My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Karan Huang … AT THIS LINK … admitted and wrote of letting her pride deceive her after in completing several work projects and receiving adulation from fellow workers … until God showed her she wasn’t as smart as she had thought of herself; … and finally praying, Loving God, thank You for Your gentle, nudging correction.”
And the ODB entry today reminds me of a common malady of mine; … and maybe yours, … and that is ignoring the warning of many sources in scriptures (see Scriptures above) not to let our pride trip us up. Come on, admit it, … along with my own confession here; … we all tend to be prideful when things go our way; and the world pumps us up with its kudos. Danger, danger, DANGER!!!
Well, let’s join the ODB author and do what Solomon warns believers over and over (again see Proverbs above); and let’s humble ourselves and receive God’s enabling grace to overcome our pride today.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for keeping me humble and helping me to avoid my tendency to think I’m in control.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to choose humility over pride today, Lord. … Amen
