Mar 5, 2021 … “Whatever?!”

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 64

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Laura Story singing … Blessings  poignantly singing of how, many times, we just can’t - or don’t - see God’s blessings in what comes our way in life.

==============

Highlight Passage:  Ecclesiastes 7:14 [ESV] ...

14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after Him.

… No matter what comes our way, we can know that God is control.

Highlight Passage [Context]: …   Ecclesiastes 6:12, 7:13-14 [ESV] …  USE THIS LINK …

… Jesus clearly declares to His disciples that He and the God, the Father are one.

==============

Reference Passage: …  Proverbs 16:9, 19:21 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …

  God, thru Solomon, show us that we may plan; but God is in control of our steps in life.

Reference Passage: … Matthew 6:34 [ESV] …

34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

  Jesus teaches on the fruitlessness of worry because tomorrow is in His hands.

Reference Passage: …Romans 8:28, … 31 [ESV] …

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. … 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

  If truly ALL THINGS are for our good, why then would we worry about anything?

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Poh Fang Chia, AT THIS LINK  relates a Chinese legend about a man losing a prize horse but saying, “Who knows if it may be a good thing for me?” … But then the horse came back with another horse; and the man said,  “Who knows if it may be a bad thing for me?” The ODB story, of course, illustrates that we really don’t know the eternal purpose behind any events in our lives.

One of the most common expressions we hear from the younger generations when they are frustrated by life is … ”WHATEVER!”  You’ve probably heard a young personal say it; or maybe we’ve even adopted that expression of frustration ourselves.  It certainly seems to fit our feelings when we can’t explain what’s going on in life, doesn’t it? [see photo]

BUT … (and it’s a profound “BUT”) … we really don’t know (for certain) what tomorrows will bring, do we?  Oh, we can (and do) plan; but as the scriptures above truthfully declare, it’s God’s will and HIS plan which will - AND DOES - lead us thru life.  And as Laura Story sings, we often don’t - or can’t - even recognize God’s blessings, which often come our way in the challenges of life.

So, I pray today that we all move forward in life, … planning what we can, … but accepting what comes our way as God’s will and HIS way for our lives.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for taking us forward in our lives … WHATEVER … happens.

My Prayer Today:  Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to be grateful for WHATEVER happens today, knowing that, in/for Christ, if’s for our good and Your glory.  … Amen
